Happy Birthday Devin 3/6/2005 10:01:41 PM Link | | Add comment | | Devin - March 5, 2005 | Today's my grandson Devin is 4 years old. Happy Birthday Devin! I love you very much! Yesterday Devin wanted to draw with the computer. I opened up Microsoft Paint and he used the "little mouse" to draw. He was very studied and worked diligently pick his way around the screen creating shapes and painting them. He would erase and start over each time working through the various colors. He had trouble picking the colors and the tools but he kept working until he got what he wanted. Kim came in and told him it was time to go to the party. Devin said that he wanted to stay and paint. But then he remembered that it was his Birthday party so he jumped up and left. On his way out he told me not to save the picture.
I did and here it is.
Then I got ready to go chuckecheese so I wouldn't miss this party like I missed birthday #3. I set out not clearly understanding where it was. I checked it out with mapquest and google maps. Both were wrong. I pointed myself in what I thought was the right direction having asked instructions on how to get their.
I sat in traffic for about over an hour trying to move less than 1 mile due to the road construction in Round Rock. While I sat in traffic I listened to kut radio trying to keep my calm. I thought a lot about traffic and anger and struggled to overcome my frustration. I thought I was doing pretty well until I got to where I was going and it was the wrong place. I pledged never to visit Round Rock again. Then I stopped and asked a fellow who was leaving work where chuckecheese was. He told me but he might as well been speaking a foreign language pointing toward the mess of construction and mentioning roads that meant nothing to me since I don't know Round Rock. At all.
I thought about giving up and going home and was on my way back to the house but some of the instructions that the fellow gave me started falling into place and suddenly there it was. Relief!
The place was noisy and I really felt out of place until I realized that it was fun watching the kids go at the amusements. Devin and one of his friends were shooting water at a target - they were so so intense and suprisingly accurate.
