My son Nathan suggested that I try Ubuntu - a debian based distribution. I did and it is great for the likes of me. I was able to download, burn the ISO, and install it without a hitch. We are using it now at home on a couple of workstations for my wife and daughter and my son. I'm moving more and more to it as I find replacement ways of doing my windows based stuff. Our goal is to have everyone here able to get online and do their online stuff without using any of my primary workstations.

The internet is an increasingly dangerous place. Many say that using IE on the internet is akin to drinking and driving. You just shouldn't do it. So if you are a reasonable sober minded person what do you do?

I turned to Firefox for my internet browsing. What do I like about it?
Popup blocking, Tabbed Browsing - makes for much easier Internet exploration, Easier search with Google built into the toolbar, easier downloading, customizable in form and function.

Get Firefox!

I've been using Thunderbird for several months with no real complaints. Thunderbird deals with spam nicely learning what I want and what I don't want. I think that Thunderbird needs to speedup certain functions. I deal with tons of emails and its bothersome sometimes because of its speed. But's its full speed ahead for me - no turning back.

Get Thunderbird!

I've been using both Firefox and Thunderbird for serveral months and I recommend that you do mix this combination.

Terragen is a work-in-progress scenery generator for Windows and the Mac OS. At this stage of its development, Terragen is free for personal non-commercial use.
I've already licensed my copy.
As I was surfing today I found a Blog that mentioned Terregen. I downloaded it and starting playing. This is my first image that I made with Terregen. I'll post more as I learn my away around.
